Happy Halloween!

For the first time in forever I was actually home to greet the trick-or-treaters, and boy did we have tons. I don’t know what kinds of demons populated your street tonight, but we had lots of ninjas and hippies and grim reapers. More than a few older “kids,” too. I kept catching myself sounding like a mom all night.
“Aren’t you a little old for this?”
“Just one hand, no double-fisting.”
“OK, from now on nobody with bigger boobs than me is getting any candy at this house.”
All right, that last one was said inside, just to Chris, after a gaggle of “girls” bounced down our front steps wearing street clothes (in every sense of the word). When I asked “What are you supposed to be?” one of them piped up: “I’m her, and she’s me.” A third teen lifted her shirt to reveal an identical one and said “And I’m me.”
I can’t believe in 12 years and 7 months, I’m going to have a teenager.

Kostyn was a (very) reluctant Nittany Lion for Halloween. Turns out he doesn’t like being shoved in a thick fleecy costume with accompanying hood and scarf on a 75-degree day. Go figure. I was able to take a couple of pictures before the meltdown. The scarf was made by his Aunt Kielynn and looks very much like the authentic one, except it was on the small side (just like him!), so when I tried to wrap it around his head he sort of freaked out.
Ah well. Just the beginning of a lifetime of his parents making him do/wear/be something against his will, I suppose.

Mommy, are you trying to choke me???!!

What do you mean I can't eat the football? Isn't that what lions do?

And here he is with his very first Jack-o-lantern, which Chris carved just for him.

hehe! With that scarf and those sneakers, he looks just like the real thing. Judging by his reaction, I'm guessing he won't be trying out to be the Lion at PSU? ;)

So cute! We want the Lion!

Beyond the group Nicky went out with, I didn't have ONE trick-or-treater. Very depressing...AND dangerous. I have far too much candy left.
