I can't wait for Nov. 5

I'm guessing I'm not the only one who had a LOT of leftover Halloween candy...

From The Associated Press
MICHIGAN -- A suburban Detroit woman has decided to scare up the vote among neighborhood children by just offering treats to John McCain supporters.

Shirley Nagel of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich., handed out candy Friday only to those who shared her support for the Republican presidential candidate and his running mate Sarah Palin. Others were turned away empty-handed.

A sign outside Nagel's house warned: "No handouts for Obama supporters, liars, tricksters or kids of supporters."

Nagel calls Democrat Barack Obama "scary." When asked about children who were turned away empty-handed and crying, she said: "Oh well. Everybody has a choice."

Just reason No. 1,000,650,000 why McCain supporters are soulless creatures.

Hey now, easy. Many of my family members are voting for McCain. All of them have beautiful souls, and I can assure you that Halloween in their houses included equal-opportunity candy bowls. :)

This is why I can't wait until Nov. 5. I just can't wait until it's all finished, when the signs have to be taken down and we'll stop being inundated with attack ads at every TV commercial break. I'm sick of the divisive, Us vs. Them mentality that has gripped the nation. This woman in Michigan is a clear example. One could argue that this is the beauty of America on display, the freedom to express one's views. But do you think either candidate stands for that kind of exclusion? Denying a 6-year-old a candy bar because of who his father will vote for? It boggles the mind.

Just one more day...

right there with you. If I could delete CNN from the cable lineup, I would. My husband would probably die from withdrawl, though!
