GObama

This whole Obama thing really has taken on a life of its own, hasn't it? The latest nonsense, forwarded by members of my own extended family, no less, is this:

"According to The Book of Revelations the anti-christ ... will be a man, in his 40s, of MUSLIM descent, who will deceive the nations with persuasive language, and have a MASSIVE Christ-like appeal....the prophecy says that people will flock to him and he will promise false hope and world peace, and when he is in power, will destroy everything. Is it OBAMA??"

I mean, seriously. An unassuming, peace-loving, U.S. senator from Illinois is actually the antichrist? Oh thank goodness such important news was typed up in an email chain and forwarded across the country, junking up people's inboxes with more of the same old fear tactics the conservatives have been dishing up for almost a decade.

I like what my friend Morgan had to say recently about the madness of it all. Read his take here.

Obama certainly has a keen sense of good marketing collateral. His logo is awesome. Typography epitomizes some of the best I've seen in a marketing campaign, especially a political campaign. If people don't vote for his good font fashion alone, then there's something wrong with them.

Jeez I thought it would take at least until August and he was way up in the polls before they just went for broke and started calling him the Anti-Christ. If you haven't seen it already, point your family member here:

Sorta curious where in the Bible it says the anti-Christ will be a Muslin. Is that in the BS version?

Wow. I'm glad I wasn't on that e-mail.

I'm just so nauseated by all of the crap that's already being spread about him and his wife. Yet Fox News can label a presidential nominee's wife "Obama's Baby Mama" and get away with calling themselves a news organization? "Fair and Balanced" indeed...

Oh, HA, Ian. Islam didn't even exist when the book of Revelation was written. Nuts. I can count the number of times local morons in my little town of Ohio have called Obama "the enemy from within."
