Some of you might recognize my column this week to be a bit of a flashback from a blog entry I wrote about a year ago. And when I say "some of you," I mean my most loyal fans. The die-hard readers of "I'm Just Sayin'."
In other words ... Kim might recall it. Perhaps Sheila, too. :)

Awesome column. Loved it. I can't believe your parents are moving! Are they getting a condo/apt?

Looking forward to drinking some of that sweet tea in just four days!!! Hopefully, I'll kick this cold first! Why do I always get sick when it's time to come see you? Arrrrrgh!

loved your column. Mike and I wrestle with this all the time.. when will Baltimore be "home" instead of "Pittsburgh" -- and we always say "when we have kids." We will see -- if the kids come along, Pittsburgh may be home anyway and Baltimore a place we lived for 12 years passing our 20s and early 30s away... :)

Hey,
I read your blog everyday, even when you don't update it! And how come I didn't get to sample some sweet tea?

I remember the entry and I like the column even better. Every word rings true in my heart. Well, except for the lowcountry part. For me it's been years of feeling too 'east coast' for California, and now too 'west coast' for the east. I'm praying that for Tesher the sense of home is more soul that location because we're already shopping for a wall map to explain to him all the places he's been, and we've been so transitory that he even now refers to places like your house with, "When we lived at Nina robyn's house..."

By the way, we unpacked our globe the other day - showed him yours over Thanksgiving - and he was sooooo excited! It's now his favorite activity.

My folks bought a little place in a 55-and-over park a few miles from their current home. They went to look at it on a whim and fell in love. I'm very happy for them.

I loved your column. I've moved a lot, so it totally rang true for me. My moment was when I went back "home" to my Grandma's house and felt like a stranger. It was rough, and then I felt like I didn't have a home. I guess every generation has this problem, wouldn't you think?
