Thon On!

Penn State's 48-hour Dance Marathon was this past weekend, and this year those kids at PSU set another record -- raising $5.2 million for kids with cancer being treated at the Penn State Children's Hospital in Hershey, Pa. It is the largest totally student-run philanthropy in the nation, and it is, in a word, unbelievable.

I bleed blue and white every day, but I take particular pride in being a Nittany Lion during Thon weekend every year. For the dancers, it's a grueling but heartwarming 48 hours of stay-awake-and-on-your-feet agony and ecstasy. Best thing I ever did there.

"One day we will dance in celebration, until then, we dance to find a cure." - Mike Funk, 2007 Overall THON Chairperson

"You know it's up to you
You know exactly what to do
I can't take it anymore
I don't want to come back
Knocking on your door..."

I can't believe you remember that! Impressive.

But do you remember the dance moves? Then I'd be REALLY impressed!!
